Protecting residents from fire and smoke is an essential responsibility for every Certified Nurse Assistant. Because CNAs provide frequent, direct care, they are often among the first to notice a burning odor, a blocked exit, a damaged cord, an unsafe oxygen setup, or a resident who needs assistance during an emergency.
This video course prepares frontline CNAs to recognize fire hazards, activate the emergency response process, assist with safe resident relocation, and help prevent fires in skilled nursing and long-term care settings. The course emphasizes life safety, the facility’s current emergency plan, assigned responsibilities, and actions within the CNA’s training and role.
