Protecting residents from abuse, neglect, mistreatment, abandonment, and exploitation is one of the most important responsibilities of every Certified Nurse Assistant. Because CNAs provide frequent, direct care, they are often among the first people to notice an unexplained injury, unmet need, behavioral change, concerning interaction, or disclosure.
Every resident has the right to receive care that protects dignity, privacy, safety, personal choice, and freedom from abuse. This course prepares frontline CNAs to recognize warning signs, protect residents from immediate danger, report concerns promptly, document observations objectively, and help prevent mistreatment through respectful, person-centered care.
