Description

Accessibility is often described in terms of overcoming impediments for physically disabled individuals as specified by the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. These requirements are often considered synonymous with the requirements of accessibility. While these mandated regulations are certainly part of the broader accessibility question, they reflect only a portion of the true intent of long-term care accessibility. Accessibility is more than overcoming physical barriers. It is overcoming a wide range of issues, including financial and social barriers and emotional and physical impediments.
