ARF Initial Certification Training Program

If you want to become a California ARF Administrator, this package is for you. You’ll receive 35 hours of live classroom training via our CDSS-Approved Initial Certification Training Program. This package covers all CDSS-required topics and provides the necessary credits required to become an ARF administrator. See the dates for the upcoming classes below.

Adult Residential Facility means any facility of any capacity that provides 24-hour-a-day nonmedical care and supervision to persons 18 years of age through 59 years of age in the state of California. To become a certified administrator for an Adult Residential Facility, you must meet the required qualifications.

First, you must complete a Department of Social Services approved 35-Hour Initial Certification Training Program. Dates listed below.

Second, register for an exam. Within 60 days of completing the ICTP, an applicant must take and pass the Administrator Certification exam with 3 attempts.

Third, after passing the administrator certification examination, you must apply for an Administrator Certificate within thirty (30) days of being notified that you passed the examination.

Description: This course is required to enable the participant to request to take the state exam to become an Adult Residential Facility Administrator. The purpose of this 35-hour initial certification course is to familiarize learners with the start-up and operational regulations for an Adult Residential Facility (ARF). The learner will also become familiar with the psychosocial needs of the residents living in an ARF and understand their individual needs. This course will engage learners in interactive experiences focused on the regulatory requirements specific to an ARF and how to create a positive environment for those living in an ARF.

CEUs.R.EZ, in partnership with Senior Community Learning to offer ARF ICTP classes. The California Department of Social Services has approved all courses.
